For your reference, we have provided a list of some of the most important filing deadlines. If you have a question about something not listed here, contact us and we’ll let you know the answer.

We’ve also provided links to some government websites. The “My Account” and “My Business Account” pages on the Canada Revenue Agency site are very useful for individuals and business owners – you can access your Notice of Assessment for up to ten years, view your account balances and carry-forward amounts, and request changes to any filed returns for the past three years.

Important Dates for Individuals (T1 returns)

T1 filing deadline for most individuals – April 30
T1 filing deadline for self-employed individuals & spouses – June 15
Fiscal year-end for most unincorporated companies – December 31

Important Dates for Corporations (T2 returns)

Final remittance due for CCPCs – 90 days after fiscal year-end
Final remittance due for other corporations – 60 days after fiscal year-end
T2 filing deadline for all corporations – 6 months after fiscal year-end
SR&ED claim deadline – 18 months after fiscal year-end
Fiscal year-end for corporations – any point during the year

Important Dates for Trusts (T3 returns)

Final remittance due for amounts owing – 90 days after fiscal year-end
T3 filing deadline for all trusts – 90 days after fiscal year-end
Fiscal year-end for testamentary trusts – any point during the year
Fiscal year-end for inter-vivos trusts – December 31

Other Important Dates

Information slips (T4s, T5s, etc.) – February 28
Subcontractor reporting – June 30 or 6 months after fiscal year-end
AgriStability applications (Ontario) – June 30
AgriStability applications (most other provinces) – September 30
AgriInvest Statement A – September 30
